Masters funding social work msc

Hello. Just wondering if anyone knows if I can get student finance for a social work msc course starting sep 2025. I already received student finance a few years ago for a childhood and youth studies undergraduate degree. Tia!

Hi. Thanks for the reply. No I’ve only had a student loan for my childhood and youth studies undergraduate degree. I’ve been offered a place at portsmouth to study social work msc. I know there is social work bursaries available also but don’t know if I would be able to get student finance as well as a bursary. Any advice on my best options would be great. Thankyou.

Hi Tia, students are not eligible for Postgraduate Masters support if they are in receipt of a social work bursary. If awarded a social work bursary but then you choose not to accept this you would still be ineligible for the Postgraduate Masters support. If you are not awarded a social work bursary we will need evidence to confirm this, this could be an email or letter from the university. Some students who are not awarded the social work bursary may be awarded a social work travel allowance, receiving the travel allowance only will not affect the eligibility for the Postgraduate Masters support.
