I would avoid using AI in any exam situation. If you have worked hard in English this year, you don’t want to miss out on a good mark because you get caught out for using AI. I don’t think it’s a good idea to use AI to write an essay for you, plus it will be harder to remember because it won’t be your own words.

I think it would be very likely, and if you get caught they could disqualify you from all exams! So I would advise against it, and just give it your best shot at writing your own one. What you can do with AI though, is ask it for tips to improve your essay e.g. any techniques you could include or anything you could clarify further. Basically use it as a tool to make your studying easier but not for it to do it for you

I think it completely depends on how you use AI, you can use it as a tool to help you prepare (asking it to give you questions based on past paper questions, asking it to rate you or mark you harshly and advise you how you can improve in your communication and detail ) you can do the same for your folio and not as a way to make things easier for your self - make it challenging for yourself now so that when you sit the exam it will see easier rather than a shock on how difficult it is (especially timewise). You could ask it afterwards to maybe give you a clear version of the essay but don't copy it instead use it to analyse and see where you can improve and how to write clearly on your feet - but again be careful you don't adopt the AI tone! There are instances where peoples work has been mistaken as AI due to this.

I think that is the same for me, I try to tone it down and reread it over and over again, especially for written work, as written work such as folio is very likely to be flagged if too AI-like. For higher last year I was worried that my creative folio piece was too (I used AI as a thesaurus and a normal thesaurus to ask it questions such as 'What is a different word for gold') but thankfully I still got really high marks! Overall if you are worried about your time and it is something like a folio piece you can check using an AI checker to see if your tone is too AI-like without making your writing low quality - some AI checkers underline and rate sections which sound like AI which can be useful.

Hey, I’ve been using AI to write essay plans for me but everything is in my own words and I’ve incorporated my own ideas as well. However, chat GPT has produced an amazing title that totally fits my essay and I can’t think of anything better. Would I be able to submit my folio discursive essay with the AI title or would this count as cheating?

This depends. If it sounds like two parts or choopy. E.g. 'To write; a Guide to synoptical writing' etc. then be careful - the ';' could give it away and the choppy writing style. Try putting it through a AI checker, Scribbrs checker is perhaps the best you can use.
