Parking at Chester Uni

Coming to Chester this year and wondering whether to bring my car. Whats the parking like at Exton and the Business School? What are the costs? Is there on street parking? How easy is it for a first year in halls?

@University of Chester @Chester Student Can you advise please?
Hi @luke.skywalker07

It's great to hear that you will be joining us later in the year! 🙂

It is strongly recommended that you do not bring a car when moving to Chester. Our Chester based campuses are small and parking is extremely limited. To park on campus a permit is required and priority is given to commuting students, disabled students and university staff. All of our campuses are walkable from one another, for example if you choose to live on Exton Park and study at Queens Park, this journey is walkable via the city centre. All city centre amenities are close by, including public transport links.

Both Exton Park and Queens Park campuses are surrounded by residential areas which means that free on street parking is available at times, however it is not guaranteed and we urge students to be very mindful of our local residential neighbours and their property.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
Becky
