Getting a place at college/sixth form on results day?

Hello,
If I achieve great results on GCSE results day, then can I call a college or sixth form and get my place on results day if I did not apply before.
Also, can you still get a bursary if you call up for a place on results day?

And, what are the chances of a grammar school accepting a bright student like this? (all 8s and 9s)

Hopefully that makes sense

Thanks!!

Most sixth forms/college will have deadline dates for applying, you cannot just call on results day and say you want a place. I'd suggest applying and if things go well, you'll be in and if not at least you applied. I'm fairly sure for bursaries and grammar schools there's additional testing required to see if you're fit for the bursary / grammar school and there's criteria you need to fill to get a bursary I'm fairly sure. Again, you must do this by the deadline date, you cannot call them on results day as it will be way too late.
Hope this helped / made sense

I think you can still call on the results day if you meet the entry requirements. At least this is what we were told.
