Decision Approved, Aberdeen University, what does that mean?

Hi Everyone! I have applied to study the DPLP at the University of Aberdeen on the postgraduate portal the status of my application has changed to - “decision approved”. What does this mean? I haven’t received any email updates on any decisions, and the status changed to this two days ago when I logged in. Can anyone help me to understand what this means? Thank you in advance!

According to the Aberdeen University web site it means, "The Admissions Team has received a decision about the application from the Selector." (source)

Did you apply via an agent? If so, then according to the web page above, then "all decisions, including offers and rejection decisions will be sent by e-mail to the Agency Branch general e-mail address."

I actually, i cant remember, i appiled on my own but in the agent section i put the agent name who was helping me at that time. Is that a good sign or bad, am i gonna get offer letter soon?

I can't recall exactly, but I applied independently and listed the name of the agent who was assisting me in the Agent section. Is this a positive or negative indicator? Will I receive the offer letter?

My interpretation is that the agent should receive a decision soon (they may already have done so). It means nothing about whether the decision will be an offer or a rejection.

I suggest you contact the agent whose details you provided - as they will receive the decision, according to that web page.
Another reason agents can get in the way rather than assisting.

Why should you be worried that they've made a decision on your application? That's a normal part of the process, it doesn't tell us what the outcome is.

"Decision letter issued" simply means "The Selector's decision has been processed by the Admissions Team. An e-mail containing the decision will be sent to the Branch general e-mail address."

As @Admit-One says above, that status gives you no indication of what the decision actually is.

Branch general means "Agency"?

Branch general means "Agency"?

In this context, yes. I we look at the the page I linked to above, https://www.abdn.ac.uk/pgap/agents/help, we see the word branch use 18 times. The first three times they use it, it's always combined with the word "agency" - i.e. "agency branch". After that, they simply use the word "branch" to mean "agency branch".

I've merged your new thread on the same topic into this one. It's not clear to me why you're ignoring what's been written in this thread.

As I explained above, "Decision letter issued" simply means "The Selector's decision has been processed by the Admissions Team. An e-mail containing the decision will be sent to the Branch general e-mail address."

Note that it says "will be" (future tense), not "has been" (past tense). So they may not have sent this email yet.

I didn't get any email from the university.

As explained above, that's almost certainly because you provided the details of an agent when you applied. As they say on their web site (see above link), "all decisions, including offers and rejection decisions will be sent by e-mail to the Agency Branch general e-mail address."

It could also be because they've yet to send the email (the status only changed this afternoon). Have you been in contact with the agent you named to see whether they are in receipt in the decision?

By what date do you need to make a decision regarding those other offers?

Have you tried contacting the University of Aberdeen to explain that you're struggling to make contact with your agent, and are under time pressure to respond to offers elsewhere. There may be a way that they can provide the decision directly to you.

I haven't spoken with the university authorities about this issue yet. Earlier this evening, my agency answered my call and informed me to wait until Monday. They mentioned that they had sent an email to the university and would provide me with a response on Monday, as Saturday and Sunday are off days in the UK.

OK. So we wait...
@Aditto Nandi, your last post (about job prospects) seemed worthy of its own thread, so I've separated it out into this thread.
