How to go from B to A in biology

Hi there, I do OCR A biology

I’ve always been good at biology. Last year I did no examquestions, and basically just only memorised the contentand understood it such that I could apply it well toquestions.

I was 4 marks off a grade A.
What would be your advice to help me get an A*.

Is doing questions over and over essential ? I found thatit barely helped me when I did do it.

Please any advice would be appreciated.

Hey there, you first have to understand the syllabus well .. don’t leave a point without understanding.. understand before you memorise.. you can watch YouTube videos to explain the lesson for you .. then do as much topic questions as you can.. then I think that you will be ready to answer full past papers insha’ Allah 😊

Also when answering past papers, write notes of the questions you got wrong to revise them again 3 or 5 days before the exam

Hi,

I was gonna say the same thing. Doing exam Qs doesnt matter unless u fully understand the cotnent. For processes, i tend to learn the mark scheme answer since it simplifies it down a lot. I do aqa and this works for me, not too sure about ocr. Remember to be on top of ur key words/terminology to get full marks in an answer.
Youve got this😊

hello! i do ocr a biology and predicted an A* what i suggest to do is make sure u understand the content rlly well bc the questions somehow tend to link diff topics together and require application so its rlly important to also know how to apply your understanding to exam qs! i fully recommend doing exam qs bc it helps sm by showing u what u don't know and you can make some flashcards on answers from ms that u tend to forget a lot.For OCR A i recommend BioRach on yt.Shes really good at explaining content in a simple way and the vids aren't too long

I tend to watch her vids make flashcards on chapters do exam qs add ms answers if needed onto flashcards and repeat and always make sure to ask ur teachers for help!!!
