UCL Digital Humanities vs. KCL Big Data in Cultue & Society (2025/26)

Hi, I received offers from both UCL and KCL MA programmes for 2025 intake. I'm having a tough time making a decision; in terms of the uni's presence and reputation, UCL seems better but programme-wise I think KCL's Big Data in Culture and Society would be a better choice for my career.

For context, I have a background in communication and PR (both academically and professionally), and I'm planning a career pivot to target more data-centric marketing or research roles. Both programmes address data analysis as their core modules, but KCL's one sort of comes across as having a stronger data-related job prospect. Still, UCL's Digital Humanities appears to have an intriguing curriculum, and read on the webpage that work placement might be available as well. This would be a great merit for me as an international.

I would love to seek some advice based on first- or second-hand experience in these two programmes or two unis. Just general thoughts or comments on UCL and King's College London are also welcomed.

UCL is better than King's in my opinion however both are world class universities. UCL also have better international connections due to it's better ranking etc, but both are located in London and have great connections go for whatever campus you enjoy most. ALSO look at the repuation and quality for each department. Best way to get a feel for the course is to go on LinkedIn and find what current students are doing / finding the course. Thanks and good luck!
