Settled vs ILR

Hi,

I sent off my UCAS in November but recently got an offer from the Uni of Glasgow with a tuition fee of £31800 which is the EU fee. I got confused on my application with the settled / presettled dependent and ILR option as they are the same thing, but now I'm thinking dependent means I'm relying on my mum's immigration status?

Should I email my unis and clarify before I get more offers? I have ILR, a letter to confirm and my share code. Would this affect any offers or decisions?? Thanks.

If you have ILR you probably are entitled to the home fees rate - as someone who also has ILR and has applied to uni previously, I have on several occasions been made offers with the incorrect fee level and had to contact the uni, inform them of this, and then complete a fee assessment questionnaire...which inevitably ends up leading to the offer being adjusted to the correct fee level.

I think this isn't an overly uncommon experience generally otherwise. I'd just go back and indicate you expected to be a home fees student based on your immigration status, and they will probably send you some kind of fee status questionnaire to complete and then review.

Thank you very much I was panicking about the sudden 30k 🥲 . I'll wait until I've been made more offers and do as you did and inform them.

As above - email the Uni with a copy of your passport, any relevant stamps/visas, and any other relevant paperwork, and explain briefly why you think you are entitled to Home fees. This can be sorted out and your fee status reversed so don't worry.
