Hi, I applied to Uni last year (2024) and got an offer but deferred it for Sep 2025. And now I think I want to apply to a different uni, can I ring them up on results day this year and go through clearing (having sat A-levels last year)? I don't want to apply again because I want to keep my current offer.

No. Even though you've got a deferred, it's under the 2024 cycle - which you're tied to.

If you want to be released, you need to contact your uni and cancel the deferred offer. You'll then need to send a new application for this cycle. It's much too early to be thinking about clearing - there's no guarantee the uni/course will even participate.
You can’t use 2025 clearing without a 2025 ucas cycle application.

Can I use my previous ps and just re-tweak it just a bit?

If you don't want your deferred place, why are you waiting for Clearing - which may not include the Uni/course you want. Why dont you just cancel that place and apply in the main cycle for the course that you do want? You could reapply to your 'place' University as part of that new application.

Yes but please make sure it's updated to include what you've been doing for the past few months to continue to engage with the subject. If you haven't done anything, are you sure you still want to study this for the next three plus years?
