makeup for brown girl (cheap)

Hi ive been feeling really insecure about my looks recently, and I am not very good at makeup. I want some help with brands and how to find a makeup routine.

I am a brown girl with quite pale skin, so I cant really use the more warm toned foundation, but cool toned is too pale for me. I cant seem to find one that matches me, and I dont want to waste money on brands that will not be good. Does anyone know which brands are worth trying, and please do cheap brands as I cant afford much.

Also not sure how to layer my makeup, it ends up looking oily but if i put on powder, it is dry.

When I do my makeup my face does not look too different or better, it just looks the same and I dont know what im doing wrong.

Please will someone also recommend me good blush brands (cheap), and shades maybe. Also lip combos, and good mascara too?

I am SUPER beginner at makeup, but a Brown girl recommended me NYX liquid eyeliner pen, which I have since fallen in love with. The brand's USP is that it is professional-quality makeup for a middle-market price. It may be worth checking out their other products rather than just eyeliner.

Also I am careful to practice at home and take it off before I go out, as I prefer to just wear makeup around the family.

hey, if youre looking for a good cheap foundation, the loreal true match is really nice and it has an amazing shade range. maybe try a neutral or maybe an olive toned shade if warm or cool dont work for you? as for blushes, my favourite is the 17 cosmetics powder blush in boots, mines in the shade desert pink and its a gorgeous pink shade but i am a bit darker and you said you have quite pale skin so im not sure how it may show up on you but id say just try the testers also have a look at collection as theyre dead cheap and the blushes have good pigment, not sure about a cream blush tho since i dont really use them. my go to lip combo is the rimmel lipliner in brownie pie with the rosy vaseline and then a clear gloss on top but again im not sure if the lipliner shade maybe a bit darker on you so maybe try cappuchino, tiramisu or maybe spice. mascara i would say any of the maybelline ones are great, for length the sky high is good and lots of people like it but my favourite is the lash sensational one. the other one that i used to like for lengthening is the barry m mascara but its a bit of a thin consistency so not great for volume so if youre getting that you might have to pair it with another volumising one. if youre not bothered about it being waterproof the 17 another level mascara is great for length and volume and its only like £3 but keep in mind it does tend to smudge. id also reccommend a mattifying primer (the collection one is great) and a setting spray to stop your makeup from looking too oily or too dry. use the mattifying primer on the t-zone and do your makeup like usual and set with powder then go in with a setting spray to bring some moisture back and to stop it from looking too dry. other than that, maybe carry a pressed powder round with you just incase you want to touch up if it gets a bit oily again.

Im medium skin tonned, olive undertone, brown girl, and I love using NYX lip liner in Cappuccino with the elf lip oil in honey talks. I use this over my high-end stuff including MAC, charlotte tilbury, dior etc.

Also makeup can only do so much. I know its easy to say but find confidence in yourself, or maybe look into body neutrality over body positivity, this stance has really helped me.
