Year 10 Work Experience!!!

I'm in year 10, and we've been told to find some work experience for July this year. I have no idea what company to ask or even how to ask them. Does anyone have any advice on how to find/apply for/ enjoy work experience??

Hi there, try not to stress to much about this your still pretty young, first of all if you know what area your want to go into the future u should try and find work experience related to that and just call a bunchh of places up asking for work experience, they might reject you due to not being 16 yet. If you are unaware of what you want to do juts do something you love or are passionate about, for e.g if you like animals just volunteer at your local animal sanctuary or vet clinic, if you like working with kids do a primary school. Every work experience you do will never be useless as you will always be able to relate skills you learn. Best of luck for finding some messages me if you need anymore help.

I'm in year 10 too and looking for work experience at the same time, lots of places seem to be full already so I would start looking asap!
It doesn't have to align with your career goals as transferable skills are very valuable but it would be useful if it did eg. if you wanted to be a teacher go to a primary school or if you wanted to be a doctor go to a hospital. I would start by researching local companies and calling them. Usually they give you a contact email which is more accurate than the one on their website. Emailing straight away works too but I find you get a better and quicker response calling! Good luck

Same, It's racking my head in. I don't mind anything but its such a pain to try and find it, my school doesn't even help me to find work experience and expects me to do it by myself. It's pretty difficult for someone with no connections like me, but it is what it is.
