year one psychology module credits

Hey I have an exam coming up soon that is 100% of my module grade and I feel extremely anxious about it as if I fail that would mean I won't be passing the module. So far I've been doing well with my modules but the exam really bugs me. If worse comes to worst would I be able to resit an exam? I really don't want to repeat the year because of one module. I am currently studying in University of Plymouth

Yes, you will be able to resit the module if you fail it. However, you might not even need to do that.

I suggest you read through "AST5 Procedure in the event of failure (taught programmes / modules)" within Plymouth's Academic Regulations, 2024-25 - particularly "AST5.1 Compensation". This essentially says (with some caveats) that as long as the module is worth no more than 20 credits, as as long as you achieve at least 30%, then they'll consider it a pass when deciding whether or not you've passed the whole year.

If that doesn't apply for some reason, then "AST5.2 Referral and repeat" applies, which provides details of all the opportunities you're provided to pass the module.

Thanks a lot! That put my mind of at ease a bit, was starting to panic a lot. I'm not planning on failing but I needed that reassurance that if something happens, I would be okay. 😌
