intercalated degree

I want to do surgery in London when I graduate. Given the competitive nature, is it worth intercalating? For time and financial purposes I would rather not, though if this impacts my future chances in surgery in London I may consider it. Would greatly appreciate some thoughts on the matter. Thanks
it’s a good question
wonder what @GANFYD thinks now that intercalated degrees don’t confer short term credit/benefit for foundation programme applications

is it worth taking say an intercalated degree in anatomy for subsequent training applications
( thanks in advance if able to reply and no pressure to whatsoever)
