Is getting a job in sixth form worth it?

Ive been wanting a job ever since i quit my last one ( i quit right before my gcses) , ive been looking online for some available, but they all seem kinda far away and im just not sure if ill have enough free time to complete my other subjects, like for example i do art a level and i know that by next year the course work will be tough, but i really want to start earning my own money so i can pay for driving lessons and save up for uni. Is it worth it to get a job now to earn side cash, or should i just wait until i turn 18 and finish sixth form?

Hi I'm y13 and do art A level (alongside maths and economics), its probably not as much work as you think. It can get quite intense at times but as long as you keep up with deadlines its pretty much the same as GCSE tbh. I don't have a job for personal reasons but in y12 I did have plenty of free time, and many others in my year have jobs and still get on fine with their A levels (including people in my art class)

To answer your question, I'd say it really just depends on you personally and maybe what subjects you do alongside art. I know subjects like History and Biology are often seen as content-heavy so maybe you wouldn't have as much free time as others. If you do decide to get a job tho, better to do it in y12/over the summer because in y13 you'll be stressing about mocks, predicted grades, UCAS etc and you'll want to focus on revision/finishing your art portfolio.

You can still get job now. You could always do less hours or use some of your holidays near exam time if you wanted.
Try places like mcdonalds. They are very flexible and take on a lot of students.
