Changing Course

Hi, I'm currently doing a biochemistry course and I've always had doubts but thought maybe I'd like it. Unfortunately, this lack of passion has effected my studies and honestly just drive in general.
I want to switch to the biology course in my uni as I would much rather study organisms as a whole, not their chemical processes etc, and I love conservation, wildlife and stuff.
I emailed my admissions office about this just now, but I thought I'd ask here about it. Would I be able to switch courses this semester? The courses are similar and stuff, but my semester 2 units I picked wouldn't be for a biology student and so I'm worried that I won't be able to switch as it's too late I know I should have done it earlier but I was overthinking and forcing myself to think I liked it. I would really rather not redo my first year, but I honestly hate chemistry (so biochemistry isn't a great course to pick ik) and I really loved the unit I did about evolution and stuff in comparison.
