Film production at Uni of Salford Interview

Hi,
To anyone who’s done the interview for the film production course at Salford.
I have an interview soon for it and have heard it’s mainly a group interview.
But just wanted to check out what else it might include.
Also is there a dress code? I’ve also heard it’s smart casual but I don’t wanna over dress!
Any advice!?
Thanks 😊

Hey!

Massive congrats on getting through to interview - that's a real achievement! If you've not already I'd definitely take a look at our Interviews Page for our Arts and Media courses. There's lots of info on there about what to expect on the day and what we're assessing you for.

My best advice would be to try to relax (I know, sounds so obvious!) and take a second before you reply to any questions asked by the assessor so you can organise your thoughts. In any group assessments make sure your voice is heard - its important to us that we see your passion for the course and your ability to work with others, so try to find that balance of actively participating but not talking over other students? It's a difficult balance, so just try your best!

In terms of dress code, we don't typically have too many notes on what to wear - for some of our creative courses like Fashion, we'd say dress to represent your style and to wear your pieces, but with other courses we typically advise to dress smart casual as you would for a standard, non-university degree interview. I'd recommend smart casual for Film Production - but its honestly more about what you do in the interview over what you wear!

I hope that helps, if you have any questions let me know!
