Hi,

I totally get how research methods can feel a bit dry at first, but it’s all about finding ways to make it engaging and manageable. One tip is to turn it into something more interactive—use flashcards for key terms like variables, sampling methods, or types of validity, and test yourself or a friend. Another idea is to create real-world examples for concepts—like thinking of an experiment you could design around your own interests (e.g., sports, music, social media). For acing questions, practice past papers and mark schemes—they help you spot patterns in how questions are asked and how answers are scored. You could also make mind maps for different sections to visualize links between topics. Breaking it into smaller, focused chunks will help too—it’s less overwhelming and keeps things moving!

Hello,

When I was doing A Level Psychology I did an EPQ in Leadership Psychology where I did my own research. This was really useful as it made the research methods topic much more interesting as I was both learning the theory and using the knowledge practically. You could also try to tie in research methods whilst revising the other topics by considering how different parts of the studies related to the different parts of the research methods topic.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please do let me know.

Hey there 😁

I know it's quite a lot to digest 😅 A game-changer for me was discovering YouTube videos that offer either explanatory content or practical problem-solving sessions. These videos make learning much easier and more engaging by incorporating a visual element.

Additionally, as you begin working through past papers and online quizzes, you'll start to notice patterns and deepen your understanding.

I hope it will be helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Good luck! 🥳

I think you’re just best doing it in short chunks rather than trying to do loads of it at once. Maybe just do variables one day, ethics the next, etc… it’s handy to know your research methods as it can help when evaluating research and theories. This website splits the research methods sections up well into easier to digest revision chunks https://www.psychologyhub.co.uk
