The Student Room Group

Which student accomodation is better for City University London Post Grad?

It looks like there are 3 main options
- Eleanor Rosa house,
- Alliance house
- iQ City

Can anyone who has stayed here provide more info on the pros and cons of your experience? Would love to hear the international student experience as well.

Hi Svinodh! I'm Tarra, a current postgraduate student at City St George's University of London! I'm on the Bar course and have been here since September. I am currently not staying in any of the 3 student accommodations, however I do have friends staying at IQ City and here are some of the pros and cons that come to my mind:

Pros

1.

Good spaces and facilities for students - there's a big common area, common kitchens which you can book for group gatherings and I think there might even be a movie room!

2.

It's the nearest of the 3 accommodations to Uni - it's a 10-minute walk from the Northampton Square campus and the route there is more or less just a straight line. It's also super near CitySport, which is the uni's gym!

Cons

1.

The street IQ City is on can get a bit quiet at night, so would definitely not want to get back too late!

If it helps, you can compare the prices and distances of the 3 accoms through the link here: https://www.citystgeorges.ac.uk/prospective-students/accommodation/residential-halls?meta_level_sand=postgraduate

I hope that helped!!

Kind regards,
Tarra
