year 12 flashcards: cognito, study smarter or cgp?

hello, i have my year 12 end of years in 4 months and people have recommended making revision resources now. i know flashcards are great for active recall, but idk which website to use because i dont want to waste time making flash cards when i could be revising. i have cognito premium so have access to unlimited flash cards and quizzes and i have the cgp physical flash cards too. but my friend recommended studysmarter as it helped her the most and it has spaced repetition. i tried anki but it just takes too much time to make them from scratch. which method is best?? thanks a lot xx

hi there, I've found that study smart is a really effective website for creating flashcards along with quizlet. on both platforms there is an ability to put is pdfs of your notes and then the website produces flashcards saving you time. i would also suggest using senicca learning to find your course to revise and recap your subjects. hope this helps.

hi, thank you so much for the response. i will definitely take this into consideration )

edit: i've since made some flashcard decks on studysmarter and currently loving the sleek look of the platform as well as the spaced repetition which I find incredibly helpful. I now know what content I need to review everyday as it gives me a manageable daily plan which will hopefully transfer everything into long term memory. thanks again!!

As the previous user said, quizlet and seneca are the real deal. Cognito is great for notes, i have premium as well and have been using it for years. seneca additionally has the "cram" function, which is also helpful, especially along side flashcards. hope you find what your looking for

Hi @li503 ,

CGP is a great option, personally I found their GCSE range very useful. During my A-levels, I used physics and maths tutor (PMT), which covers 9+ subjects. On their website there are premade revision cards available. Other than these options, I've previously used quizlet, but because anyone can create and share revision cards on there just make sure the information is correct for any sets you use.

Although you state you don't want to create your own flash cards, the process of creating these cards is a form of revision. Going over and writing information in your own words can help you grasp a better understanding of the concept. I would highly recommend creating your own revision cards for topics you really struggle with as you can be very specific in the questions being asked.

Also when using revision cards online, make sure it's aligned with your exam board.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,

thank you very much for the feedback, i now realise your point about making flash cards and rewording the content being a big part of the revision. i'm making sure it's aligned with the AQA exam board by using the specification while making flashcards to make the process more efficient.

What worked for me is using trymarcus.com it makes you flashcards, notes and mini lessons to go through and also reminds you of topics you haven't revised in a while so you always keep on top of them, Ps I do Business Maths and Computer Science and am predicted A* A* A
