Hello @05MP,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m currently in my final year studying Diagnostic Radiography at BCU. When applying for Diagnostic Radiography at most universities, there are no entry exams or tests like those required for Medicine. You simply need to meet the entry requirements, and having some work experience is highly desirable. I hope this clarifies things. Feel free to ask more questions.

Thank you so much for clarifying this for me !!
Since you’re in your last year of diagnostic radiography as someone who also wants to do this course how do you feel about doing diagnostic radiography? Do you have any tips or things I should prepare myself for ? I am also not amazing at maths or physics is this course still doable for me since I am very interested ?

Hi @05MP,

I really enjoy my course because it offers a great balance between academic learning and practical experience. I love that I can apply what I’ve been taught in lectures to real-life settings, interacting with patients and staff during placement. The inclusion of placement is one of the things I value most about the course, as it allows me to develop my skills in practice rather than spending all my time in lectures. Many universities offering this course require only one science subject as an entry requirement, alongside other relevant qualifications, but it’s important to note that entry requirements vary between universities. It’s essential to research each university’s specific criteria carefully. I’ll be honest, the course isn’t easy. It requires a lot of passion, determination, and hard work to succeed. While some of the content can be challenging, if you genuinely enjoy the subject, it becomes interesting and motivates you to keep learning and improving.

In terms of tips and advice, one of the most important things is to ask for help when you need it, whether during A-levels or university. Don’t leave things to the last minute, as procrastination can cause unnecessary stress and affect the quality of your work. At university, deadlines mean that rushing assignments at the last minute can result in lower grades. Make sure you stay organised by keeping track of assignments and deadlines, and manage your time effectively. Lastly don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek clarification, as lecturers are there to support you. All the best.
