how am i going to finish all the content?

So, we have gcses soon. Although im not completely panicking im wondering how im going to revise all of the content in like 120 days. There is ssooo much for history and we havent even started cold war yet which is a very long topic. I'm trying to be in high spirits but i dont think im going to finish revising all of the content especially for triple science. There's like 80 topics for each science and ive done like 7 topics in each. IM SO SCARED. i feel like i should of started earlier but i keep telling myself i wouldnt't have had the resources in year 10, and even if i did revise i would have to go over it again around this time. Is anyone else going through the same thing as me? or do you have any advice?

Coming from a uni student, you can literally just cram night before and you will be fine, don't stress it. For me, freesciencelessons was my saving grace. Literally just watch all of those videos and do a little diagram of everything in each video and it'll stay in your head. History is always tricky since there is so much to know; you should spend most of your time on that. Most people don't start revising until easter you will be okay!!! You'll be way ahead of the game if you start now, able to go into those exams with the most confidence.

Bro they are just gcse's, unless you really want all 8s and 9s you wouldn't even have to study to get all 7's. There isn't any point in freaking out and psyching yourself out, once you start regular revision you'll start to remember everything better. Regular means at least 2 hours each day after school, increasing as you get closer to the date.
Best of luck.

dont overcomplicate it and become obsessively organised tm brother. just make a list of the topics you struggle on and work from there

Dude dw, for my mocks I think I revised like a week before they started and my predicteds rn are 10 9s and an 8. When it gets closer just grind out past papers (especially for bio) and become familiar with the key terminology- ie. Aerobic respiration instead of respiration or you won’t get marks. ALSO ALWAYS MENTION PARTIALLY PERMEABLE MEMBRANE IN AN OSMOSIS QUESTION. And revise required practicals, there’s channels like Cognito that go through each mini topic subsection in pretty good detail, and Science Shorts makes videos going over entire papers in 20 minutes for last minute revision.
You’ll be okay, don’t stress too much. Good luck

Thanks so much for the help and since you have such good grades, do you know how to get better at english because its really hard to revise for. Like i dont know how to write in such a complex way like the grade 9 essays ive read. And im stuck at 7s mostly.

Look, the worst thing you can do is stress. I know it’s hard, but calm down and make a revision plan. Once you have a plan in place and start doing it you will realise you can do it. You will also surprise urself on how much you remember, especially if you revised for your mocks too

Sorry I didn’t check TSR in a while! English is hard, I made quote banks and read super high scoring essays. This was helpful and gave me more analysis to add into said quote banks, which is good to memorise (esp very important ones) but start commenting on things in a more detailed way. Eg. Assonance (repeated vowels), consonance (repeated consonants), dental sounds (repeated d and t sounds), plosives (p and b) and sibilance ( s sounds) instead of “alliteration”. This was HUGE for me. It’s so easy to do on the spot, and for sibilance and assonance the analysis is pretty much always “it slows down the pace which emphasises what Shakespeare is saying by forcing the audience to listen” or smth like that. The teachers love it. Never leave a quote without analysis - you can say it’s a motif, or just mention connotations if you’re really stuck but never blindly quote - this is only somewhat acceptable in unseen poetry but I would. Poems tend to have extended metaphors so spot those, same with semantic fields that’s really easy but good analysis. Also have a good mix of language and structural techniques- as well as form for Shakespeare. As practice read extracts and write introductions- not whole paragraphs or essays- and get chat gpt to grade them (it’s very harsh for intros specifically- you don’t need quotations tho so make sure to tell it that) and it will help you realise that an intro is more than just one line- it mentions everything that you talk about throughout the essay briefly (don’t worry about repeating points ur supposed to repeat things). Also smidge things together, don’t talk about hyperbole and rhetorical questions seperately if it’s the same quote- it’s now a hyperbolic rhetorical question.
Oh and I made a list of super fancy words that you can add to essays to make me seem smart. That helps with your essay “sophistication”. Last point- in unseen poetry GIVE AN OPINION. say “I think that” or “I like x more than y because” but NOWHERE else, or you will instantly lose marks.

Hello,

What you are feeling is completely normal, I remember feeling the same for both GCSE and A Level. One of the main bits of advice I would give you is that rather than thinking in terms of "I won't be able to cover all of this" think in terms of "I will be able to do this". This positive thinking can have a great impact.

Secondly, you should create a plan whether that is a list of all the topics you need to be able to revise and/or a revision time table in order to make the content more manageable for you to cover. Finally, Seneca Learning can be an extremely good revision tool which really helped me get the top grades and broke down all the topics. In the worst-case scenario that you really don't think you will be able to cover it all just focus on the parts of each subject you find the hardest.

I hope this helps if you have any further questions please do let me know.
