Economics Fitzwilliam Essay Competition

I am a year 12 student wanting to study economics at uni, I found the Fitzwilliam economics essay competition as a competition I could do now. However, it ends on the 28th of February and I believe I am already a month late to when it began (and have missed a webinar). Do you think it is still worth doing?

Yes! It’s never too late until it’s too late. Obviously there’s going to be work to do but if you want to do it I’m sure you’ll put effort into it.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I decided against it later as I realised there were essay competitions later and I wasn't fully prepared for it.

No problem. Ahh I see that makes sense. What essay comp are you looking at now?

John Locke, RES essay. Just anything later in the year, I found out they weren't as valuable as I thought to the personal statement but I am still interested in doing one later in the year.

It is rather important for me to anything online to aid with the admissions though as I can't really go to any summer schools or other programs because I live in the channel islands.

John Locke was an essay I was planning to do too, really good opportunity. There’s always a way to mention it somehow whether it’s in the paragraph of your extracurricular activities or in your reference. You doing an essay comp is one the best things to “stand yourself out” in an application.
