Can I take A-Level Further Maths without doing the Standard A-Level Maths exam?

Essentially I’ve changed my academic path. Despite having an IB diploma (including Maths AA SL), I plan to take A-Level Further Maths. Since most students take A-Level Maths alongside Further Maths, I was wondering if the standard Maths exam is actually required, or if I can just take the Further Maths exam on its own.
With the current GCE A level specifications for maths in England you could opt to just take further maths. Maths and Further Maths are independent qualifications. I don't know whether the IB maths you have studied covers all of the prerequisites you need to know but I imagine if your maths skills are good you could fill any possible gaps.

If you are an International candidate considering the Edexcel IAL you would have to do both Maths and Further Maths.
Whether or not a school would actually let you do this is another question.

Great thanks, I'll steer away from Edexcel IAL then.
