I've recently gotten my November re-sit mark and, for the 3rd year in a row, was awarded a Grade 3 with very few marks away from a 4. How do I go about, either, somehow getting a grade 4 or dropping out from maths? (I am 18).
At my initial maths GCSE, I was 3 marks away from a 4. At the re-sit, 5 marks away. Last year in the Summer, I had 2 marks away. This year, I'm not completely sure exactly what I have gotten, but it was a 3 yet again.
I asked for a remark last year, and the grade was kept the same.
It comes to the point where I'm completely frustrated, and considering dropping out of my college course entirely if I have to do it again. I have the other diploma needed for this course, but I'm still not sure what to do.
I wasn't sure to whether ask my tutor or my maths teacher, but neither were in yesterday. I asked the maths reception to pass on the message instead, and they mentioned how maths was funded by my course, but they would ask anyway.
What do I do in this situation?

in my opinion as a year 11 i would do many past papers from older years and mark it and then focus on the ones that i do not understand as many of the questions are similar in foundation. i also recommend websites like maths genie and practise many many times and i mean it like if you are a couple marks from passing i get its super frustrating but PLEASEE focus on past papers they will save you and you might even get a 5 <3
also talk to ur teacher, they will help you so much for example they might teach u in depth on what u do not understand and set u some work and give you tips.. pls pester ur teachers its their job to help you and they did not get a degree for no reason
wishing u a lot of luck:smile:

Thank you for the response ☺️

I have done past papers fortunately, and I always earn full marks if not near it also. My last paper I did, I got full marks. It's just the exams that are the problem for me, unfortunately.
