Hi There!

Sorry to hear your feeling like this about your current uni. However transferring is a lot more common than you would think.

If you know that you are not completely enjoying yourself in your city/Uni then I would definitely looked into moving, you don't want to live somewhere you are not enjoying for 3+ years, because eventually it will have an impact on you.

If you have an idea of where you wanted to transfer to I would contact that university and ask what their procedure is as every uni will differ.

I think its important to be happy where you are and with what you are studying and should do what is best for you.

I hope this helps!

Hey, I had exactly the same situation and I transferred from 1st year straight into 2nd. It's easier if you complete your 1st year, but you might be able to transfer mid-year if you speak to the admissions office. Have you spoken to anyone working at your current uni about this?

Hi there,

I haven't personally transferred university or course however I know one of my peers has recently transferred universities from a Scottish university to Manchester after 2nd year!

He found the process to be supported by the university he was joining and they offered halls accommodation that was leftover spare from when freshers had dropped out. As a top tip if they don’t offer this- I would suggest if the university you're thinking of switching to doesn't make that offer - looking at the Facebook accommodation groups, as often they're searching for an extra flatmate or housemate to join them on a a student rental contract where they need a certain amount of people. That can be a great way to find some housemates for a university in an unfamiliar place.
Hope this helps
