Does UoR take GCSEs into account?

Hello! I've recently applied to reading and need AAB for the course I'm applying to - im currently achieving these grades but I'm worried about if GCSEs are important. I sat my GCSEs in 2022 after covid and they are not the best to put it lightly lol! Just wondering if my GCSE results may hinder me as I've been asked for my results by other Universities.
Hey, I don't think they do! As long as you have a 4 or above in Maths and English at GCSE I think it's unusual for unis to care about the rest of them, A-Levels are more important for applying.

Hi @saltapplicant

I have had a look at the course page for 2025/2026 here which says 'English, Mathematics and Science at grade B (5).' in regards to GCSEs. If you want to double check this, I would recommend either using the Ask A Question portal, or contacting [email protected] to ask how much weighting these results will have.

Let us know if you have any more questions!
