Student Tuition help

So i completed a foundation year last year which i passed at Teesside , Law with foundation year. I then transferred universities to study law however I’ve withdrawn this year due to many reasons. Will i be eligible for student finance in september when i’m ready to go back to?

I’m reading if it’s an integrated foundation year I may be ? As it’s course length + 1 year.

Please help !

Hi Joel,

What course are you wishing to study now? Would the new course be full time or part time? Was your previous study full time?

Thanks,
Claire

Just to clarify you have then done 2 years previous study?

Every student is entitled to funding for the length of their course plus one additional year, minus any previous study. This means if your new course is 3 years the calculation would be 3+1=4-2=2 years left given in final years of your course. This means in year 1 you wouldn't get Tuition Fees but should get Maintenance Loan and Supplementary Grants if applicable.

Do you have any Compelling Personal Reasons (CPR) why you didn't complete your previous course? If you do, you can send CPR evidence to see if it's possible to get the Tuition Fees in year 1. The evidence would be a letter on headed paper signed/stamped and dated from someone in profession i.e. Doctor/lecturer who knows the CPR. They must know how it affected your studies and the dates it affected you. Once received it will be up to the assessor if this will be accepted or not.

Thanks,
Claire

Applications for 25/26 academic year open normally February/March. Apply as soon as they open then send your CPR evidence and cover letter explaining in detail why you're sending this. You can upload this online in your account under the evidence upload option. The team will review this and confirm if accepted or not.

Thanks,
Claire
