How Birth Order and High-Conflict Parental Separation Affect Adult Relationships
The project aims to investigate the differences in relationship qualities in people with different birth orders, particularly after experiencing high-conflict parental separation. The different birth orders included in this study are oldest child, middle children, youngest child, only children, and twins. The specific relationship qualities included in this study are trust, commitment, communication, and empathy. There will also be some questions regarding parents' separation, as well as some general demographic questions. With results from the survey, we hope to find out whether the birth orders have different responses to parental separation. Will there be any benefits in taking part?By participating, people can contribute to psychological research. Alongside this, the findings could influence more research or paths towards development of new approaches to supporting individuals who have experienced high-conflict parental separation.The survey should take around 15-20 minutes, and it is just a survey with no additional follow up requirements after completion. To take part, people must be 18+. It is of course also completely voluntary!Further details of confidentiality and requirements of the survey will be outlined before the questions begin.
