how long did it take for offer?

applied for a BEng course, its been a while so just curious!! (kind of worried ngl )

It's great to hear that you've applied to study at York! Hopefully we'll be welcoming you onto campus this Autumn 🎉
The time taken to respond to an application will vary by school/department, so it's quite difficult for me to give you an estimate of when you should hear back. However, the response time is not reflective of the quality of your application, so please don't be worried ❤.
I expect that our admissions team is currently working through a backlog of applications from over the Christmas break, especially with the UCAS deadline coming up. But, if you haven't heard back in the next week or so, you could get in touch with the admissions team for the school/department you've applied for a course with. If you tell me which course(s) you've applied for, I can find the admissions contact details for you.

starting of jan -- is it too soon to contact? 😭😭

Ah, I'm sorry, for some reason I thought you had made the application before Christmas - I'm not sure where I got that idea from 😅
I'd wait until at least a month after you sent your application in to contact our admissions team. So if you made your application at the start of January, I'd wait until at least early February before getting in touch. As you have made your application before the UCAS deadline, you should have a decision from us by 14 May 2025. So if I were you, I wouldn't be worried about not hearing back until we get nearer to that date.
While you wait, you can apply for funding. We release info on our scholarships and bursaries throughout the year, and applications for government loans open in early 2025.
