UCAS won't let me submit my application

I have emailed my reference directly to universities because of a few issues and I have received replies from them stating they have received my references and they will link them to my application at their end so I have went on to try and submit my UCAS application but it won't let me even though I have clicked the no reference required box, it says the reference section is still in progress despite me doing this.

Anybody know how I can fix this?

Are you applying through a centre (via a buzzword) or independently?
