Hi,

yes for first year, second year and now in third year

Hi there. If your previous applications were approved for the Fee only as an EU student, you cannot apply for the Maintenance Loan online. You will need to complete the paper PN1 form mentioned and return this by post with your share code. This would then take around 6 weeks to be processed. Thanks, David

You would be applying as a home student on the PN1 form. If you now have settled status we only require the share code with this form, we do not need evidence of your employment. Thanks, David

im living with parents, so no need for my dad payslips? if he earnings are low and hes on UC? and whats the difference between pr1 and pn1? pn1 is 58 pages, is that right? seems excessive. Thanks!

PN1 is a new student application which is what we require if you are changing from EU to SFE funding as you are. We do not need payslips. Once you apply, if you request the income assessed amount, your parents would be notified and asked to provide their income details to support your application. Thanks, David

Hi there,

Yes, that's correct - when you apply for the Maintenance Loan for the first time the Pn1 is the right form to use, rest assured.

Thanks, Graeme

Hi im filling the form right now, from what i had understood, i am elegible for mantainance loan.
i had been for 3 years before my uni started. i got my settled status during my first year. I had tuiton loan for first and second year and third.

but thus part of section 3 is confuising me:

a19, a20 & a21
Long residency
You must have been living in the UK and Islands legally for the three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of your course.
You must have held a form of leave to remain in the UK issued by the Home Office during that time. This will usually be limited leave to remain or discretionary leave to remain, but other types of leave are also acceptable.
If you had more than one type of leave to remain during the 3 years before the start of the first academic of your course, you must have applied for the second type of leave before the last one expired.
You must be living in England on the first day of the first academic year of your course.
From here everything is no————————
If you're under 18 on the first day of the first academic year of your course, you must have lived in the UK for at least 7 years.
If you're 18 or older on the first day of the first academic year of your course, you must have been living in the UK for at least half of your life, or 20 years, whichever is less.
If your leave to remain in the UK expires while you're studying, we'll ask you to send us documents to show that you have a new form of leave.
If you answered 'No' to all the questions in this section, you are not eligible for student finance from Student Finance England. You may still be able to get tuition fee only funding, for example, if you are an EU/EEA national, an Irish citizen, a British citizen who has been resident in the British Overseas Territories or a Chagossian. For more information on Fee Support only funding go to www.gov.uk/studentfinance
I dont understand, please help!
Thanks

Just to clarify, Long Residency doesn't actually apply to yourself: you have Settled Status, so that section won't apply to you.

You don't need to answer any questions regarding Long Residency, just move past those sections.

Thanks, Graeme

as well as the other reply, i printed 2 pages in one page so i didnt have to print 60 pages, would that be ok? and do i have to fold all papers in half or can i send it as large letter, unfolded

Hi Zentor, the method of posting is completely up to yourself. If you are requiring to have your application fully means tested (applying for the maximum maintenance loan) and are under the age of 25 prior to the start of the academic year, we would require the sponsors (parents) to support the application in section 12 of the PN1 form only. Thanks, Stephen.
