Y10 work experience

hello, so my school is making everyone in year 10 do a work experience placement for about a week, and they're hoping for everyone to have a placement for february (but the placement week will be sometime in may). i don't really know where to start honestly, i'm interested in neuroscience, astrophysics, physics, and chemistry. should i make a cv? i'm not sure what i would even put on it though, since i don't do much outside of school. how did the process of getting a placement work for people who have already done this, did you like ring or email a prospecting company up orr? does anyone have any ideas of where i could go? for further information i'm in the newcastle/NE area but i could definitely get transport/temporary accommodation anywhere else, work experience tenure is just going to be from the 19th-21st may 2025. thank you!

Some work experience places may request a CV, but typically big companies. It would be good to collate ideas on what you may write on this.
Another thing to think about is depending on where you go, some places (e.g a school or hospital) may need you to have a police check.
As you have only a short time, I would suggest ringing up the place(s), unless you think it is somewhere which will reply fairly promptly (as you will need to discuss information on the company, what you need to do before you go, details of what you'll do and whether you'll be interested etc.
Personally, I don't have a particular interest in physics/chemistry, however I have one piece of advice from my own experience.
I was in the same position in year 12, having no idea what to do for work experience, and my mum suggested doing some at a school.
For me I had almost no interest in being a primary school teacher until I undertook my work experience at a primary school and completely loved it!
This may not be of any interest to you (as I am definitely biased) and that's totally okay, but as your placement date is during the school term, I would advise you to consider it, as it may be one of your only options for experience inside of a school (either SEND, nursery, secondary or primary).

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
