moving back home for uni

hi, i’m looking for some advice if anyone can help. i am a first year student at uni studying away from home (took a gap year). i am beginning to think I should start my course at home in september. i like my course in terms of content but I think i would live a better fulfilled life at home. i am aware of the “experience” i could miss out on but i have already experienced it so far and i feel i would be happier at home, where my family are and where i have a job and lots of social network of friends. I know I am capable of living away for the duration of my course but it feels silly to do so when it costs so much , when i know i am happier at home. am i making the wrong decision? for me it feels right to move back , i was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or can relate.
If that's what you want to do, then by all means move home. There's no reason why you shouldn't.

My daughter is thinking about doing her 1st year in halls (for the experience) and then moving home for years 2 & 3 and switching to the uni's online option (her uni does her course either in campus or online) so she can save money.

thanks for the reply:smile: unfortunately i can’t do that as i’m from ireland and i study in england so i would have to move back altogether. it does feel right to move home for the support of
family and friends and also the financial benefit , it doesn’t make sense to pay so much to be half living whereas at home i am overall a lot happier

Move home if it feels right to you. There is no sense in staying somewhere you don't feel is suitable, when you are perfectly happy at home.

i think so. i’m just worried i might regret it in the future , but there are so many positives being at home so i don’t think that would be the case
