Y-12 Summer Programmes

I’ve applied for quite a few so far (Balliol Frontier (rejected), Pathway to Bath (accepted, but into a course that was my final option and unrelated to wanted degree), UNIQ (?), Sutton Trust (?), In2STEM (?)).

Stupid question, but will these actually help me with getting into Universities?

Context: Household income of >15000 yearly (without benefits), first to go to university, Free school meals etc, 5 8’s, 2 7’s, 2 6’s.

I am absolutely desperate to get into a University that will help me go places and help kickstart my STEM career, so I’ve been applying to as many under the sun! Are there any other programmes/projects/anything people know about too? Just worried my grades aren’t all 9s.

You’ll likely be eligible for contextual admissions from a lot of universities due to your circumstances and if you get into Sutton trust they can lower your offer. Look into the contextual admissions from the universities you want to go to. Apart from that summer schools can only help if you put them on your personal statement, and it can make it pretty easy to write about how you know you will enjoy the course you’re applying for if you did it as summer school. Definitely worth going and good luck getting in
