Is my revision strategy not effective?

Hi guys i’m in year 11 studying my subjects at gcse with aqa board and im wondering if my revision method is any good.

For my science, psychology history etc im using resources like a youtube video or for science a textbook which has information. I am writing this key information down to kind of jog my memory on studying the content. My plan is once i have condensed notes on all the relevant topics to do practice papers and for what i get wrong refer back to the revision page i wrote about it to see where i went wrong and to try to correct it. However im not sure if this is the most effective way to revise so im open to suggestions. For maths im just doing practice questions and im hoping to do past papers. My mocks start in two weeks and im trying to get all 7s and aboves but thats extremely optimistic for my current grades lol.

Thanks in advance

For gcse that is really all you can do. Many don't start revising for another week at gcse and still get top grades, so the main thing is your confidence, which will improve the more past papers you do, and that you don't freak out in the mock, which will improve the more past papers you do, so you are doing what you need to now.
Best of luck!

Honestly ur doing a much better job then what i did for my GCSEs i do psychology for alevel and i make empty mind maps - so basically i put the name of the topic in the middle and then i write the subtopics as headers, i then write as much as i remember (reading notes or watching yt once) then in another colour i correct what i wrote and add to it

Or to be quicker (especially if ur cramming) i have a convo with myself about a topic using key words. I record my voice - i then write the things i either got wrong or things I missed. That way ur not writing down things that is alr in ur long term memory and that u know.

For like the maths and science subjects i lit spent my whole time looking at past papers - i would skip the ones that i find easy and focus on the hard ones - so like any circle theorems/functions I would always focus on those cuz i found them hard whereas any algebra i was fine with - i defo reccomend colour coding the spec in red/yellow/green -( red being things u find hardest) as you dont wanna spend a whole 1 hour on a past paper. The only notes i would make for science (esp biology) would be from the mark scheme as sometimes yt vids waffle - apart from free science lessons

Good luck and ur doing great revision - i got a 3 in physics mocks and i ended up with an 8 in the real thing so im sure ur gonna do fine
