College applications with GCSE and High school diploma

So I moved too the UK and never took it seriously and ended up failing two of my classes in GCSEs because everyone said it didn’t matter because I would be moving back too the states and join High school in 11th grade / junior year. Now I’m a senior and I’m so lost on how to apply for colleges. For the failed GCSEs my counselor made me take the High Schools SOL (like for example apparently I didn’t pass science so I had to take the biology SOL and passed) but now I’m so confused because will it impact my whole college application?? All my grades since I’ve been in high school here have been A, B, C and I’ve had one D ever. I’m just so lost and I already feel like a failure for being so behind on all of this.
