Could universities know that I'm at a different university but applying through UCAS?

It is for first year entry

I didn't put it on my application but how could they ever find out? Wouldn't they just assume I'm on a gap year?

They will know because UCAS will link your two applications under your old UCAS id.
You need to email each of your Unis and tell them to avoid them assuming you are trying to deceive.

But what does my old UCAS id actually show? Does it show I enrolled?

Any Uni realising that you had a confirmed place in 2024 will email you asking for an explanation / more info. And we can also ask UCAS to check the Student Finance system if we have any doubts. Why are you trying to lie about this - what have you got to hide? Unis do not actually penalise you for restarting your degree elsewhere, but they will penalise you for blatant lying.
Do you want it to be uncovered after you have enrolled and to be chucked off the course for lying?

What do you think you will gain from this lie that is worth the huge risk?
This is of course, application fraud.

I'd suggest that you join the countless students each year who have to send a slightly apologetic "Ooops, I didn't realise that I had to include this" email to your choices.

I have emailed all them now I am autistic so I don't like not knowing exactly what is going on behind the scenes like what if they don't update it or what if they make a mistake/don't receive the information and then auto reject me? etc

It is very, very unlikely they would reject you even if they review your application before your message is seen. The most likely outcome is they would think "hmm, this looks like a gap year, lets email them to ask if they were enrolled elsewhere".

Try not to worry, you have done the right thing in correcting your education history.

OK thank you

I did ask my old 6th form UCAS person and he said I wouldn't need to include it so I just decided not to just in case it affected anything

Unfortunately your 6th Form UCAS advisor is an idiot, although that is not unusual.

"If you studied at a uni or college but didn't finish the course, you still need to enter these details. Include the start and finish date, and state that you didn't receive any qualifications there."

OK thank you one more thing to check with you please. I am currently still enrolled at this university while applying i.e. I have not dropped out yet. Will this affect anything?

No, it wont affect anything with your current place. You can still decide later whether you want to leave based on what offer(s) you get back.
