Im scared ill be the only one in my course

i applied for BEng electronics and computer engineering, but i cant find anyone doing that online or irl. I dont wanna be alone in my course thatll be so awkward how would that even happen. i know this is such a weird thing to be scared about but i cant help it :frown:

This is a completely valid concern and not weird at all, so please don't worry about that! I would advise you not to jump to conclusions too quickly though, because people come from all around the country to do specific degrees an specific universities and so there will likely be more people applying than you think.

I studied a very popular course at uni (Psychology) and so all my classes were quite large. Whilst this has its benefits, it definitely made it harder to get one to one support and feedback with lecturers, and so in a way if you are on a niche course with a smaller cohort then this can offer a lot of advantages. Perhaps it will feel less daunting asking questions in class, and perhaps you will form better relationships with your tutors because they will know you by name, and perhaps you will be able to get to know your coursemates better because they will have similar interests to you.
