Can't get an A* with AS-Levels. Will this affect my overall grade?

So I'm unable to get an A* in my AS-Levels and I'm wondering if this puts me at a disadvantage for my overall A-level grade?
Nor sure what you mean. The A* grade isn't awarded to anyone at AS level.

Yes I know and the AS part is half of my A-levels so I'm asking if I get an A* on my A-levels but an A on my AS-Levels, will it affect my overall score or is it the case that the A-levels are marked higher?
I thought an AS Level is a separate qualification to an a level. Like I got an A in AS Maths and I got an A* in A level maths. The mark in AS maths didn't affect my a level mark. What exam board do you do for a levels?

I'm not 100% sure if I understand, but if ur exam board if like mine (WJEC). Then an A is the highest grade is AS level, and you can then achieve the A* is A2 Level is your UMS score is above 90% for that total UMS, if that makes sense.
You can't get an A* is A2 if you don't have an A in AS. So, no it doesn't put you at a disadvantage

The requirements for an A* differ depending on which examiner you are talking about but for all examiners where the AS counts towards the full A level grade, if you get an A at AS you have the potential to get an A* overall.

For example, all science International A Levels from Edexcel require 480 UMS in total that includes 270 UMS from the A2 exams to get an A*. An A at AS is at least 240 UMS so if you get the required 270 from A2 you will get an A*.
