If they've said you've got to go elsewhere then you'll probably have to find somewhere else for an "English with creative writing" course. If you're happy with the modules they have for just English, then go ahead and apply for that.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that Newman are no longer running the English with creative writing degree. If it is the combined degree you are looking for, University of Chester is running an English degree that has a combination of English with Creative Writing. As a University of Chester English student myself, I know the department really well and I can’t speak highly enough of it! The tutors are so supportive and enthusiastic about their subject, and their teaching is a mixed format that is brilliant.

Overall, Chester is an order full university, its dynamic and forward thinking, and has student voice and student support at its heart.

There’s also the option of following your degree with the PGCE as this is available at Chester too, and a new education department has just been built on campus so it’s very modern!

If you’re interested in this, have a look at the website and maybe come along to an open day - all the information is on the website www.chester.ac.uk.

I hope this is of interest,
Jess
