Reference List and Bibliography help

Hi, I'm doing an Access to Higher Education course and am completely out of my depth having not been in education since 1987. I have written out a Reference List at the end of my essay but have to do a Bibliography too. We are using the Harvard referencing style. Do I repeat my Reference List in the Bibliography and add the other sources that I've read but not used OR should my Bibliography not include my Reference List? Seems to make sense not to repeat stuff from the References in the Bibliography but you never know! Thanks.

Hi, welcome back to education, great to see it. Your reference list is your bibliography. If you have not used something in your essay, then don't include in it. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!

My Notes for the essay say - 'You may be asked to include a reference list, a bibliography or both' In my case, I have been asked to include both. I've done the reference list but just not sure what to put in the bibliography.

Hi @MogP
Your bibliography is any book/journal/article/video etc you have looked at for your study, but not cited. You don't use any of the books that you have cited and appear in your reference list.
