Applying for History and Politics at Oxford (2026)

Hi! I'm a Year 12 student hoping to apply for History and Politics at Oxford. I have some questions about how to prepare for the application. If there are any current or past H&P students who could share their experiences, it would be much appreciated! For context, I do History, Politics, Econ and English Lit.

- What supercurriculars did you participate in?
- How did you structure your personal statements and your readings?
- What kinds of questions would they ask in the interview?
- How can I prepare between then and now?

Thank you!

Hey! That’s awesome, Oxford sounds exciting! For supercurriculars, you can join debate clubs. In your personal statement, highlight key readings and how they influenced your thinking. Interviews often dive deep into our interests, so be ready to discuss them. Just keep reading and engaging with current events for now! Good luck!

If you look on the Oxford website - and go to an Oxford Open Day - you can find all of this information.
