There are extensive sports opportunities at Oxford. Each undergraduate college has a sports ground of its own or shared with one or two other colleges, and the university has sports grounds in the parks and on Iffley Road, where Roger Bannister ran the first four minute mile. Colleges compete against one another, and the university competes against other universities. The annual Varsity Match against Cambridge draws large crowds at Twickenham and the Oxford vs Cambridge boat race is a nationally televised event. Representing Oxford against Cambridge in a sport results in the award of a university honour called a Blue or a half Blue.
Edit: the Varsity Match is moving from Twickenham to another stadium this year. The MCC is reported to be debating whether to continue hosting Oxford vs Cambridge limited over cricket at Lord's. The main multi-day University Match has moved to Arundel.
