Cambridge NanoDTP 2025

Hi, I wonder if anyone has received updates from the NanoDTP in Cambridge? I submitted my application on November and haven't heard anything back since then

I’m surprised you haven’t heard anything yet if you applied by the first round deadline! I applied for the second round in early January and haven’t heard anything yet. In fact I haven’t heard from my general one to chemistry either whose deadline was early December. I have heard back from the Sensor CDT for an interview (tomorrow, thus why I’m lurking on TSR looking for past advice etc).

Hi may I ask when did you submit you application to Sensor CDT? I also applied to sensor CDT but haven't received an interview. BTW I knew someone who submitted by the second round ddl has already received interview, I guess my application was not successful but I wish you all the best!

If you mean NanoDTC, then I am international student and in the same boat, applied 2nd of Decembder. However, I know a guy who is a home student and he got an interview early this month.

Yes, we have had a round of interviews – depending on this outcome we may hold another round of interviews in February.
I am afraid this is all the information I can provide until your portal is updated.
Therefore, your application is still being reviewed by the committee and unfortunately a decision has yet to be made.

Sorry to hear that ☹️ If it helps it is one of the more competitive CDTs - I was looking at stats and it’s like 8.9% acceptance rate (vs Chem PhD is about 30%, and sensor CDT was 15%). Being so interdisciplinary we’re up against the best of engineering and physical sciences. I’ve not heard anything yet but wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t get an interview as I didn’t get a first (but I had extenuating circumstances which they said meant I should apply anyway).

Hello, I applied and had my interview on 21st for the Sensor CDT. Wanted to know if you've received any update yet

I've also applied for the Sensor CDT back in December, had my interview on the 22nd of January. I think there are many applicants this year considering that these CDTs are fully funded. All we can do is just be patient and wait... Best of luck!

Oh nice!! The UK likes international students there is nothing wrong with that, actuallt its an advantage as it shows you can speak multiple languages. What's your background in?
