Is my Extended Essay question bad? (IB)

I’ve been thinking about what Extended Essay question I should do for ages. I settled on one but now I’m not so sure I can do it justice, so I switched it recently to something else. I’m not sure if this is a good idea.

I plan to write an English essay about Romeo and Juliet and The Picture of Dorian Gray. The themes I’d include would probably be moral corruption/naïvety of youth, but I’m not sure if this is too broad or boring. I usually see a lot of EE being about issues like gender inequality or systemic oppression of minorities, so I feel like my essay needs to be at least somewhat relevant to a more important discussion. Do examiners care? Additionally, both texts I chose are rather popular, and I’m not sure if I should try to balance it out by picking one that is less well-known.

Thank you

If I remember correctly, your school should check your question before you begin, to make sure that it's ok
