Hey @Goodhead,

I hope you are doing well.

It's great to hear that you are considering placements as a part of your business or economics degree at university. Placements are a great way to gain work experience while studying and build your CV. It helps you develop skills, gain confidence and enhances your employability prospects.

The University of Southampton is a great university for industrial placements. You can see all the placement related courses here: Course finder!

I'm a second-year Business Management student with an industrial placement myself and I have had a great experience with the university's placements team.

The Southampton Business School has a dedicated Placement Team that will guide and support you on every step of your placement journey. During the first year, we have a module called 'Realising Success' which focuses on identifying your career pathway and how to create a competitive employability portfolio. The SBS Placement Team also helps prepare us for interviews, assessment centres, presentations and many other stages of the selection process!

Additionally, there is the careers, employability and student enterprise team that provides support to students in terms of work experience schemes, CV support, networking and volunteering opportunities.

I hope this helps!

Thank you,
Akshita Gupta
