Has anybody been on a speed date before?

Just wondering if anybody has been on a speed date or speed dates before and what their experiences were like.

As superficial as it seems. It's like a dating app, but you meet up in person.

You have about 30 seconds to know someone before you rotate. It's incredibly difficult to build any form of meaningful connection within that time, and since you're competing with people other people he/she has been talking with you have even less chance of securing anything meaningful.

So if you're looking for tips, have a really really good first impression. Everything from the way you talk, the way you dress, and the way you hit things off. It's incredibly difficult to pull off unless you're like a dating app pro.

The audience would vary, but the age of the women can range from early 20s to 40s. For men, it can be a bit older.
And yes, the people there can be as picky as heck.

If I was to do something like speed dating, I think I would prefer meeting people cold in person like a pickup from a pub or a club. It's a lot less awkward and you can always walk away if necessary; things you can't do in speed dating events.

I'd go for the fun of it instead of expecting anything serious from it. If you manage to get something, awesome; otherwise, no matter.
