How do lectures in uni work?

Like say suppose my course and some other course have a few similar classes - so would they have a combined lecture? Or is like separate course separate lecture?

I’m wondering cause I applied for BEng elec and computer engg and obviously that might share some classes with courses that are plain electronics or plain computer engg

Combined lectures are a thing where there are common modules. In my experience it was greatest in the first year, getting less common as you progressed in to the specialist areas of your degree

Hello,

Combined lectures can be common when there are common modules. For instance, there are many different types of law degrees/programmes but when there are common modules it is not unusual to be in the same lecture.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please do let me know.

Hello,
If any of your modules are shared with another course, hen you might possibly have students in your lecture that are studying this module, but on the other course, therefore you would share the lecture. In your case, you may find yourself in lectures with student that are studying the plain electronics or plain computer engg course if you are both studying that module the lecture applies to. If you ant to know more, how about contacting the university department to ask? They will be able to help you and give you a more detailed explanation of ho the course is structured.

I hope that makes sense and helps,

Hi!

So I study English Language and Linguistics but YSJ offer linguistics with other languages too, we often have joint linguistics lectures as it is the same content. I am aware the it is the same with various psychology courses too.

Hope this helps! Faye 🙂
