Am i cooked: gcse

I’ve got my mocks in 2 weeks(only getting tested on paper 2 for science)

I’m doing triple maths, geography OCR maths
I’ve barely done any revision I’ve just about revised chemistry. I’ve got no clue what to do for biology and I’m so bad at physics.
I don’t really revise much i usually do 20mins-1hr every day but i don’t really know how to revise.

Any tips?

I had the same issue for history had no idea about half of my course so I watched loads of “GCSE pod” videos and made flash cards not notes - this could be useful for geography.

I used my cgp book learnt everything in it for my sciences and then did a bunch of past papers. When you do lots of questions you know what the examiners are looking for. Make sure you know your core practicals well.

As for maths I used Mr Astbury who does IGCSE maths but I found him quite useful for my gcse maths Edexecl just double check with your specifications.

I also recommend using the specification as a checklist for all GCSEs. Also remember this is only the mock it doesn’t really matter as long as you know how to effectively revise for the real thing. I got 3 and a 4 in my last history mocks and got an 8 in the real thing. Good luck!!

Thank you smm!! For GCSE pod i’m pretty sure we use that in geography for lessons , but do you have to pay as i checked it out but it’s abit confusing?

Completely agree with the other reply about CGP, I'd also use PMT for the sciences - go through a past paper, add up marks by topic then order the topics from best to worst (the ones you got the most marks for vs the least) (sometimes it's more obvious than others), then power through some topic questions. The best cramming technique imo.

Seeing what you already know is also a good place to start. Go into the contents page of a textbook (or look at your specification), take a title, and on some scrap paper, write down EVERYTHING you remember regarding that topic. EVERYTHING. Use the subtopics to guide you. Then go through ur notes/textbook and fill in any major gaps (formulas, facts, diagrams etc...). Rinse and repeat, using your first mindmap as a "mark scheme".
This sounds laborious but you can use different colours etc, and only stick to the key information.

Another thing about GCSE is that you can often just learn from the mark scheme, so after you do topic questions, flashcard the questions you got wrong + the mark scheme, and learn it roughly (not word for word, but the key points).

Don't stress too hard for mocks, esp at GCSE, but these are some techniques that have stuck with me through GCSE and A Level.
(Also word of advice, don't say you're bad at anything!! You'll get it in your head and find it harder to progress.)

Lmk if you have any other questions!

I think only schools can purchase it. A couple of my friends and I got to get her and asked the teachers to buy it for us although it took them about a month to finally get it it was very useful
