Should i apply for SFE or SAAS?

Hi, I'm currently a year 13 student and want to go on to study computer science in Scotland (Edinburgh, St Andrews and Aberdeen). I'm from Romania but have settled status in the UK due to my parents and Ive been living in England for the past 4 years.

My issue is that I don't know if I need to apply through SFE or SAAS if i go study in Scotland. On all 3 uni websites it said that I would have to pay Scotland Home rate which added more to my confusion 😕

Thank you!

Based on what you have advised you would apply to us SFE for finance. When is your course starting? Is it full time or part time course?

Thanks,
Claire

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. To my understanding the student finance body you would be applying to would be based on where you are living currently and not where you're studying. English students coming to study in Scotland usually receive their funding from Student Finance England and so I would say getting in contact with them first of all to find out about the funding available would be the best next step for you.
As for fee status, that just determines how much you pay but I would still say that Student Finance England would probably be your fee provider. The UK Council for International Student Affairs, UKCISA, might be able to get you some more advice on your circumstances and you can find their website here: https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information--Advice/Fees-and-Money/Scotland-fee-status

I hope this helps and all the best with your applications!

Applications for 25/26 academic year are not yet open. These normally open February/March. Keep checking our website/social media channels for this opening. Apply as soon as they open as applications can take 6-8 weeks to process once we have everything.

Thanks,
